INTRODUCTION

OBJECTIVE

The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical and Electronic Program aims to produce high quality, creative technicians and engineers. Graduates will be highly sought after and recognized by many international professional bodies.

After graduation, the students should possess:-

A high quality qualification that combines both theory and practical to be competent as industry professionals in the field of electrical / electronic engineering. (PA1)

Good moral values and ethics among the students by inculcating integrity and professionalism. (PA2)

Outstanding practical skills and knowledge to pursue their education to a higher level. (PA3)

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Students completing this programme will be suitable for employment related to the electrical and electronics field in various industries such as oil and gas, power, manufacturing and engineering consultancy. HND graduates are also accepted into Universities in the UK, Commonwealth countries and the United States to continue their Bachelor Degree. Typically, HND graduates are given direct entry to the second year of a Bachelor Degree course at local or oversea universities.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

i. Passed SPM with at least 3 credits including Mathematics and 1 Science/Technical/Vocational subject and a pass in English;

OR

ii. Passed Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with at least a full pass in any subject and credit in Mathematics and 1 Science subject at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level;

OR

iii. Passed A – Level with at least grade C in Science or Mathematics;

OR

iv. Passed O – Level with at least grade C in 3 subjects including Mathematics and one Science/Technical/ Vocational subject and a pass in English;

OR

v. Passed Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least a Grade B in 3 subjects including Mathematics and one Science/Technical/Vocational subject;

OR

vi. Completed Certificate in Vocational and Technical/Skills equivalent to MQF Level 3 with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and 1 year working experience in related field (or completed a one-semester Bridging Programme);

OR

vii. Completed Certificate in Engineering/Engineering Technology (MQF Level 3) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00;

OR

viii. Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by Malaysian Government.

DURATION

The minimum time for Full-time study to complete a module shall be 2.5 years (4 months OJT)
